Intercultural Competence

Dealing with different worlds

“We see the world, not as it is, but as we are”

This quote, attributed to Anaïs Nin, and later used by Stephen Covey, is true for all individual perspectives. We really cannot predict how persons, other than ourselves, see and experience the world.
However, in intercultural cooperation the amount of unexpected differences in perspectives increases exponentially.
Without even being aware, you manage to offend an entire group of people. Or you think you managed to come to an agreement with your business partner whereas later it turns out you did not.
How do you cope with cultural differences, or even better, turn these differences into a strategic advantage?
